Came up with this as an opening/ice breaker idea at the start of the "Power of the Tongue" series. Reversing the thought of an actual "roast"….I decided to each week have a different member sit in front of the group and one at a time let the group "homie roast" them……where they have to say something positive about the roastee. Whether it be as shallow "Joe you are my homie and i like your shoes" or as deep as "Joe you are my homie and i appreciate your walk with God and the true example you are to everyone". We have had some really great results from this even though getting to everyone carried well past our series end. Attached is the a simple slide I used during.
