The heart pumps blood to all parts of the body. Beats 2.5 billion times in a 65 yr lifespan; weighs 9-12 oz, leading cause of death is heart disease, 25%; heart starts beating 21 days after conception. The pulse created by the heart is like a blood pressure wave that reaches and energizes every single cell in the body and brain. Also, it creates an electromagnetic sphere as far as 10 ft of space around you.
That’s all well and good, but it’s not the heart we’re going to be talking about tonight. We’re going to talk about the heart that is referenced most commonly in Hebrew as leb (layve) which is defined as the inner man, mind, will, understanding, conscience. The most common Greek reference for heart is kardia, which means the center of all physical and spiritual life or the innermost part of anything; it’s the seat, or dwelling place, of thoughts, passions, desires, appetites, affections, purposes, endeavours…
