Have musical talent in your youth group? Showcase it at an event like this. This Jazz Cafe was a chance for us to showcase the talent of our youth while reaching out to the community. Concept is simple: set up a 1 hour "concert" with an emcee and directly following provide a dessert and beverage. We set goals for each student to sell 10 tickets ($5/each for total of $50) and had all desserts/beverages donated by the parents. All funds went to the Youth Convention fund-5-if you clarify the goal people are more wiling to give. There was zero overhead and it turned out to be a fun event for all!
